Needs and Impact Assessment 2025

The Office of Addictions and Mental Health, in collaboration with several government departments, Nova Scotia Health, IWK Health, and community organizations, including the Community Grief and Emotional Wellness Hub, completed community conversations across Colchester, Cumberland, and East Hants Counties. A consulting company called Davis Pier was hired to help with this work.

These conversations were an important part of meeting the Mass Casualty Commission’s recommendations and supporting Nova Scotians most affected by the Mass Casualty.

These conversations related directly to Recommendation C.13, which advises government to address the public health emergency resulting from the unmet need for mental health, grief and bereavement supports following the Mass Casualty.

Summary of what is happening
