Engagement & PFA Evaluation

Nova Scotia Health’s Public Engagement team recently completed our second organization evaluation of patient and public engagement, and fifth evaluation of the Patient and Family Advisor experience.

We heard from nearly 200 leaders, staff teams and PFAs from across the organization through a combined survey and several focus groups and interviews to inform this work. See the reports for a full breakdown of participants.

In these reports, you’ll find our recommendations broken down into six categories: Leadership & Executive Team; Engagement Team; Quality & Operational Excellence Teams; Patient Engagement & PFAs; Manager & Team Lead Level; and finally, Culture & Capacity. Beneath each of these recommendations are sets of action items to help us get from where we are now – to where we want to be.

We encourage all teams and leaders across the organization to read these reports and find ways to implement some of these recommendations into your work of including Nova Scotians in the decisions and actions that impact them.
