‘Good – Cheap – Fast’: A framework for keeping your public engagement plans from crashing
You may have previously come across “good-cheap-fast” in relation to service delivery. This quote is attributed to Jim Jarmusch, the American film director: “Fast, Cheap, and Good…pick two. If it’s fast and cheap it won’t be good. If it’s cheap and good it won’t be fast. If it’s fast and good it won’t be cheap.” The Public Engagement team at NSHA has adapted this because we find it highly relevant for our work. We can think of dozens of project examples over the years where this simple concept has proven true.
